Social media? - Sydney Norris

Is social media detrimental?
Is social media being detrimental to our face-to-face interactions with strangers? Social media does lessen face-to-face interactions which can cause people to not know how to communicate in person. When you do communicate in person you can get to know a person based off appearance, how they carry themselves, and body language. My younger brother Dylan he constantly stays in his room and plays video games. I believe this is hurting his way to be able to talk to people he does not know. I can tell this because if it is anyone besides his mom, he has trouble carrying on a conversation. Dylan does not know how to speak to a person in different tones or what to say to a person if he says something that makes them mad. Being constantly on social media or video games he thinks he does nothing wrong because not seeing other people doing things different or better ways makes him think his way is the only way.
